Yeshiva University-Beth Jacob Summer Kollel

The Yeshiva University-Beth Jacob Summer Kollel begins July 5th.  For five weeks, young scholars from YU, 6 men and 4 women, will be spending the day learning, teaching and interacting with the members of our community. The Rosh Beit Medrash for both the men's program and the women's program is Rabbi Dr. Alex Mondrow. The YU scholars will be sharing divrei Torah at various minyanim and will be giving nightly shiurim, leading youth programs and making themselves available to learn with you b'chavruta. Classes and Programs begin tonight! See schedule below.


For adults, the men and women fellows will be giving shiurim on an array of topics. The fellows are also available to learn b'chavruta (individually) from either 8:30-9:15 or 9:15-10:00.

Schedule of Evening Shiurim for Adults. All Shiurim are open to men and women.
(Each Shiur is a series that will be the same time and day each week)
Monday:
8:00pm -Leora Ohevshalom-Confronting Modernity (Ives Youth Lounge)
8:30pm -Dov Lerner- Jewish Politics-What is the Ideal Jewish Government? (Schoenfeld Beit Medrash)

Tuesday:
8:00pm -Meira Rubin-Principles in Kashrut (Ives Youth Lounge)
8:30pm -Adrian Medina- Jewish History/Philosophy (Schoenfeld Beit Medrash)

Wednesday:
8:00pm -Miriam Weiss-Women in Tanach (Ives Youth Lounge)
8:30pm -Nuriel Klinger- Business Ethics and Halacha (Schoenfeld Beit Medrash)

Thursday:
8:15pm--Rabbi Dr. Mondrow-The Intersection between Torah and Psychology. The first part of series this Thursday is entitled Don't Worry Be Happy:Dealing with Depression and Anxiety (Schoenfeld Beit Medrash)

Schedule of Youth Programs---Monday-Thursday 7:00-8:00 p.m.
For youth, we have exciting programs each night with classes for 1st-5th, 6th-8th and 9th-12th grades. Each night your child will be rewarded with either pizza, ice cream or popcorn.

1st-5th Grades: Rabbi Osgood's Jewish History as you have never seen it before
6th-8th Grades:Concepts in Mitzvot, Shabbat, and Holidays
9th-12th Grades: A Teenager's guide to Mitzvot and the Jewish Calender
