Sisterhood

 September 24, 2013

Dear Fellow Sisterhood Members and Friends,

Last year Beth Jacob Sisterhood had a very successful year.  The Sisterhood led numerous great events, including: Sunday brunches featuring discussions on health – physical and financial;

 - A trip to the Nethercutt Museum;
 - Trips to the Glendale Centre Theater; and
 - The Second Annual Sisterhood Chanukah Celebration

The Sisterhood was also instrumental in various chesed programs. I hope that with your help and continued participation, we will continue to offer solid programming that appeals to women (and men) of all ages.

As some of you may not know me, let me reintroduce myself.  I was born and raised at Beth Jacob, being a third generation member.  My parents, Adele and Marvin Goldsmith were married on the bimah 50 years ago.    My husband Barry and I have two children - Hannah (11) and Emily (8) who attend Maimonides Academy.

We have a number of great activities planned for the coming year and we will begin scheduling events.   There will also be joint events with the Men’s Club, and we welcome new ideas and additional events to plan.  These programs will include:

- cooking,
- challah baking and yoga classes;
- Sunday brunches; and
- Theatre productions.

Membership in the Sisterhood will have its privileges, since discounts will be given to members, as well as priority status if some of our activities have limited availability.  Membership dues will be a very reasonable $18.00, and we hope to offer more than that in savings.

Please take a minute to fill out the membership application enclosed, and please consider signing up as a volunteer to become more involved, help us with our planned events, and help us make Beth Jacob succeed. Your help and participation will be much appreciated.   Click here to download our sisterhood application form.

Thank you, in advance,

Michele Poltorak
Sisterhood President
