Sisterhood 2014 will be a “social club” not limited to sisters or girlfriends. We will have programs and activities that will attract primarily the seniors and the empty nesters of Beth Jacob. I am hoping the activities we plan will help people feel a “kesher” to and excitement for “all things Beth Jacob.” Having programs for seniors will be Beth Jacob’s way of thanking them for what they have done as builders of our shul and community.
Our committee will attempt to have programs that will also attract a somewhat younger demographic as well, namely the “empty nesters,” (55 and above).
Our first Sunday brunch is planned for Sept. 14 at 9:45 am at Beth Jacob. Steve Weinstock will be our emcee, as we schmooze with President Jack Fenigstein and get into the spirit for the upcoming holidays with our very own Chazan Arik Wollheim. I hope to have these brunches bi-monthly with interesting speakers, activities and perhaps short local trips.
I plan to continue our successful “Masters Shabbat luncheons.” These luncheons are a good opportunity to socialize while dining with friends, sing zmirot and be inspired by divrei Torah.
Please join our “Sisterhood Social Club” for only $18.00 by filling out our membership form. Please note that men are welcome and encouraged to join too. Our first brunch will be free with your membership Please click here to download our Sisterhood application form.
I look forward to working with each and every one of you.
