As we embark on this new year together, I am excited to share the introduction of new initiatives aimed at fostering deeper community connections, enhancing our spiritual experiences, and supporting our Israeli mishpacha.

Your engagement in our activities will be invaluable. Your presence and contributions will be essential to the vitality of our community, and your involvement will enrich us all.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
 

We need your help to keep our community strong. Our Areivim Program, dedicated in memory of Estelle and Sam Samson z”l, provides support to members of our community. Below is a list of Areivim opportunities, as well as other Chesed opportunities. If you would like to volunteer for any of the following activities at Beth Jacob Congregation, please click the appropriate selection(s), and someone from the office will reach out with more details.

Join us as a Baal Koreh! For all who feel comfortable reading your Bar Mitzvah Parsha or any Parsha you've prepared.

Visit or call members of the community.

Blow Shofar for people who are unable to attend services on Rosh Hashanah.

We need people at the entrance of Shapell Sanctuary to greet people entering the Shul.


Make meals and/or provide assistance for members sitting shiva, suffering an illness or in need of support.

Sign up for a meal train to make meals for new moms.

Help us keep our precious synagogue safe and volunteer for the Shabbat security committee. 

Host guests for Shabbat meals.


Make condolence visits and/or be part of minyan services during Shiva periods 

Participate in this "chesed shel emet". Young Volunteers are appreciated. Learn more about Tahara and understand the commitment that is needed at a "last minute" notice.

Help plan & organize YP events. Make our new guests to the YP Minyan feel welcome, and host YP members for Shabbat and Holiday meals!
