The Kestenbaum Family Youth Department

Welcome Message from Rabbi Eli

There’s no age limit to community.  Some of our most profound memories of Jewish identity are our earliest ones, so why not make those memories exceptional for our children?

The Beth Jacob youth department not only provides the highest quality programming for Beth Jacob children and their parents, but is constantly working to innovate and improve.  All of our youth programming is designed to delight, include and engage our community’s kids at every age.

Our Shabbat and Holiday groups are staffed by outstanding teen leaders from our local high schools and our diverse and unique array of interactive holiday programming sets Beth Jacob apart.  The Kestenbaum Family Youth Department experience provides curated Jewish experiences for our kids, and enriches our community at large.

Shabbat and Chagim Groups

All our staff are CPR and First Aid trained. Our staff are also trained in child safety and protection and safety procedures. Our staff receive ongoing staff development in the areas of child development and care as well as how to make each moment educational and fun. The Tefillah melodies are chosen by our very own Chazan Wollheim to make our Tefillah one that is lively and exciting.

Our Shabbat morning groups run from 9:00 am until shul is over around (around 11:45). Groups are divided by age 0-2, 2-3, 4-6, 7-9, JUCO 8-12. Each group has age-appropriate toys and games, story time, Tefilla, Parasha, outdoor activities, snack time, Mitzvah money, raffles, and prizes.

Our groups for the Chagim also include special baking activities and holiday related games designed to enhance the chag experience.
